Few things scream "suburbs" to me like recreational vehicles/motor homes/campers. Traveling the open road in your very own home away from home is just such a big part of the classic "American Dream". My friend's father has a vintage airstream trailer that he's lovingly restored, and the family has actually taken it along for camping trips. The simple, blocky letters, silver on a blue background, remind me of airline logos from the same era, an association which I don't think is a coincidence. The shape, and name, of these campers was all about being aerodynamic, like a B-52, or a cadillac car, or a bullet-shaped bra.
